Dissemination
Actions
The project will develop a strategy to conduct an extensive and intense dissemination of progress and results of the project. Skånefrö will be in charge to plan and execute all dissemination activities supported by the project leader who is mainly responsible for the technical progress of the project. Dissemination will be carried out through several actions in parallel targeting industry, academia and public officials.
Target groups:
The main identified target groups are (numbered) the 1. agriculture sector (including actors as small seed producers, cooperatives, farmers etc), 2. National Environmental Protection Agencies and Environmental Research institutes who will be provided with detailed information about the project progress and result. Also, 3. public officials with a stake in bio mass will be provided with project information. Other target groups will be 4. organisations, universities and institutes educating in biomass or heating technology. Individual Environment Protection Agencies in different member states of the EU, or the Ministries directly if applicable, will be informed by means of a BIOAGRO brochure and a presentation letter. Direct contact will also be established to the European Environmental Agency to give them information about BIOAGRO.
Methods:
Information dissemination will be undertaken to promote the BIOAGRO project results and achieve communication objectives for the agriculture sector and for the general public. Different means will be used to disseminate information to the target groups (After each method the corresponding number(s) of the target group to whom the method is relevant is shown):
  • The main channel for dissemination of project results will be the project specific interactive project web site, www.bioagro.com. Detailed project description, deliverables and other data collected will be provided. The web site will be regularly updated with information about the progress of the project. To ensure that target groups are reached, notifications will be sent with reference to news available on the Web Site and direct mail to selected target groups. The website will be constructed and provided with possibilities for interaction such as views and opinions etc. (Target groups: all (1, 2, 3 and 4))
  • Publications The results will be published through articles in industry related journals as Bioenergy International, Bioenergi, Lantmännen, Energimagasinet VVS-forum, Jordbruksaktuellt and others such as the International Environmental Technology, Environmental engineering and Ny Teknik. (Target groups: 1, 2 and 4)
  • Information campaign through the European Environment Information and Observation Network (www.eionet.eu.int) and the European Topics Centre, here under the European Topic Centre on Air and Climate Change (www.air-climate.eionet.eu.int). Awareness of BIOAGRO will also be organised by Skånefrö, ÄFAB and with the participation of Lund University of Technology (LTH), towards nationalagriculture associations in the form of one-day workshops. These workshops will aim at presenting the BIOAGRO environmental benefits and impact. (Target groups: 2, 3 and 4).
  • Participation in conferences and exhibitions, ESA Annual Meeting 2007 and 2008, International Seed Federation (ISF) Conference, 26-28 May 2008, Prague, RENEXPO Oct 2007 in Augsburg, European Pellets Conference March 2007 and March 2008 in Austria, All-Energy Conference in May 2008 in Aberdeen/Scotland. (Target groups: 1,2 and 4)
  • Information material, i.e. brochures and DVDs. The information material will be produced with information about the obtained results and the data collected (initially in Swedish and English, 3000 ex). These items will be widely distributed during arranged events and participations at conferences/fairs in the European Community. (Target groups: all (1, 2, 3 and 4))
  • Training and education activities by Äfab will enable knowledge transfer to researchers, engineers and students in the fields. Also other supporting organisations will be asked to participate with their knowledge on biomass. (Target groups 2 and 4)
  • Study visits Students, researchers, national initiatives and other interest groups will be invited to visit our facilities. We will gladly receive study visits and under private management arrange study visits within our network of companies within the plant breeding and other Swedish agricultural organizations such as LRF, Lantmännen and Svenska Foder AB. We estimate that we will receive some 50 study visits with at least 10 persons in each group during the project period. Further, we also will arrange a dissemination event inviting media, interested actors etc during the second half of the project (Target groups 1, 2, 3 and 4)
  • A Marketing plan will clarify IPR-possibilities, enabling participants and other stakeholders to transfer knowledge obtained within BIOAGRO into commercial products and services, hence securing a widespread dissemination and commercialisation of the end results. We have already established contact with several manufacturers of equipment for combustion technique on Ireland and in Austria, who are very interested in developing their combustion technique so they can manage to use BIOAGRO
Expected results:
Complete dissemination of BIOAGRO method and results to target groups and others.
Assumptions and Constraints:
There is a risk that the demonstrated technique will be questioned or ignored by the industry as the sector is rather conservative. We aim to overcome this with informative and continuous dissemination of project results.
